While searching for the elusive 9OT I need to complete a display, I came across a 36OT in green scales. Having never seen one of this pattern before I paid the man who owned a gun store $19.00 and took his last Schrade. :D No box, just a plastic bag and the Warranty card. Knife is new with brass bolsters. Near the bottom of the right bolster is the number 8426 stamped into the brass. Serial number??? I've never seen a number in this area on any of my small folders. I did a search here and found that it was a short run knife. Schrades-R Us shows a picture with brown scales, but not green. Has the Old Timer plate. Any info appriciated.

Thanks,
Tj

Two I've seen on EBAY. It's a rare one. Essentially a 34OT with an awl instead of a spey blade.

Schrade 34OT Middleman; 3-5/16"; clip, sheepfoot, spey; also Yellow (Plainsman) model
Schrade 36OT Saddleman; 3-5/16"; clip, sheepfoot, punch (also as Skoal)

Looks like you got a nice find for $19.00. I'd love to see a picture of those scales, and that is where Schrade puts the serial number on folders.

I'll try to post a picture tonight after work. Picts I tried last night didn't turn out well. Maybe I can scan it...

I'd estimate the 36OT to rate "average" or "above average" for rarity. I've never seen a green 36 though, so I think you totally scored! Wouldn't the model number actually be 36OTG then?

You might have seen that on a box end sticker if the knife had been in the original package. But the color variant identifiers were almost never added to the tangstamps. Then again, this knife could have been an SFO slated for the DU Greenwing program, SDU36OTGW, or some such, but did not receive the etch and GW packaging.

That greenwing is a cool knife. Never saw one before. I didn't get a box with the 36OT. Just a plastic bag and Warrenty card.
