.375 Busses 3/8" Obese

HOLY MOLY that is nice!!!

ya, but it's gotta feel like holding a 3lb hammer backwards. But, my idea of cool would probably be rejected by most. I'd want a nmfbm, but 3/4" saber ground in this format. If I could get it, I'd even get the handle tapered down. either tapered down to 1/4" useing the .4xx portion as a kind of integral bolster, or just tapeing it like normal. I want every ounce of my choppers weight to be in the blade.

or gut the handle. I'd be down for that in this configuration :) thinner slabs though.

I've got the .375 GW. (I say "the" but there may be more like it, but this one is mine. ;) )

Wow, I've never seen that before. Must be great for bopping field mice. ;)

I really like the lines of a clip point, so I had Ban put a similar clip onto a FSH. There is at least one CS clip point floating around, with a recurve, it is just dead sexy.

Thanks... I like her... and great for bopping field mice! :D

Would that clip point FSH recurve be this one???

That OD is sporting some of the nicest snakeskin in my (humble) collection!

Something about the way it's machined really brings out the colours quite nicely!

Here's a nice "money shot" of my Snakeskin;

You do have some beautiful snakeskin, brother.

I'm excited because I will be getting my first piece with snakeskin pretty soon...and it's going to be smashing! :D

Snakeskin really is something special. Once you have your first snakeskin slabs that's pretty much it, everything else pales in comparison! (In my opinion).

I thought I might feel the same way after I got my first black paper micarta, and as lovely as it is, it's still not snakeskin!

I'm thinking about getting a Duty knife and was wondering about the AD vs. the OD. For those of you with the fat blade, how do you like the balance? It seems to me that a blade that fat on a knife that small wouldn't feel right, but then I also think that chubbier women make better lovers, so what do I know about perspective? When I get a Mistress (I'm talking knife here, not woman) I want her tobe as thick as I can get, but I don't know the same is true with a small EDC fixed blade.

they dont call it a railroad spike for nothing.

Basically if your going to trail the edge or tip along whatever your cutting, it will do as well or better then other thin knives. the edge itself on the satin ones are near zero ground, very thin. This is worth noting because if you try to torque anything with this knife you might dent or damage the area near the cutting edge. I'd almost suggest going with a standard active duty or a game warden for that type of action. If you intend to pry it thing just make sure that the prying motion is side to side to get the full strength of the spine, and to not apply force to the cutting edge.

the second you need to shove the entire blade into your cutting media, having to force the stuff apart 3/8" will be very noticable.

as far as balance, I think I handled one once during the 2003 blade show west, but I can't recall. I'd assume that it would feel like carrying a 1lb weight in your hand, but with it being that small I don't know that indexing the blade would be as important as with larger knives.
