.38 Special!!

My radio jack spear blade was smooth ebony or African with the Northfield embossed diamond. Perhaps that run was the straw that broke the camels back. Thx for the explaination, seems to make sense.

Yes, I think Charlie said they were reluctant to do any more of the embossed diamond shields after the Radio Jacks.

Received my antique yellow bone Lick Creek today and man is it a beauty, really nailed it Lyle. Here it is with the Beaver Tail I received earlier.

Great pics here! That Beaver Tail is a looker, but I agree, that antique yellow pick bone along with the rat tail bolsters really makes this pattern sing.

Thank you Draggat and Lyle, I'm not in Primble's league yet but I'm trying. Lyle, I'm relatively new to knife collecting, if it was not for your effort I would have never known of this pattern, Thanks.

Just a really lovely knife and after tuning up the edge I thought an appropriate snack was well deserved.....

Couple of perfect ebonies, Paul! Love that "Lick Creek" etch on Lyle's, the half Whittler ain't no slouch either.:thumbup:

Beautiful knife, Jamie! Boy, Charlie and Lyle really created some gems in these! That jigging is out of this world!

Thanks Perry. I'm clearly taken with the pattern, but might have to get a second job if Charlie and Lyle do another run anytime soon. ;) :)

Nice to see you folks enjoying these knives! They rest firmly on Lyle's and Bill's shoulders!

BTW, the plain diamond shield is needed on the smooth handles because they lose the emboss at the corners when they sand them! I have some small Diamond Edge knives that have the same smooth shields!

On the whittlers, I have experienced blade rub and "wedge protrusion" on many old serpentine whistlers. It is endemic to the breed - no getting around it! On a Case 6380 I carried for a while, I found a blade position that made the wedge stick out, and sanded it off!! Worked great!!
Of course it was a user. Safe queens I leave alone!
My two drachmas!:D

I was out of town most of the week, but a couple final "38 special" deliveries were waiting for me when I got home.

I haven't bought any of the 38's yet. Been trying to hold off. I have to say though Stephen, seeing your nice collection all together here isn't making things any easier. Very nice.
