Due to the requests that I've received in 2007 for bigger and faster output, I'm currently evaluating some new motor and drive packages to offer for the KMG.

Today, I received the first 3 hp package for testing. It took about 1 hour to set it up on my stand......and HOLY SMOKES, is it impressive!!!

It's been running continously for a few hours today and will remain running for the next week or so. From there I'll continue to use it for normal shop stuff to see how it works out.

After hogging some steel with a 60 grit belt running nearly 7000 ft/min....I just can't imagine that ANYONE would EVER need anymore power.

At this point, I'm just looking into the feasibility of offering a system like this...and if it proves out...it may still be a few months away before it's available...so stay tuned.

I'll try to take post some photos....and maybe a short video clip in the next week or so.

Now I need to order some more belts because I anticipate that my steel scrap pile is going to be ground to dust over the next few months.

Rob this last year I put a 3 HP DC variable on my KMG and I LUV it. Sure makes hogging off iron go quick. Only problem I have had was keeping the belt tight enough to keep up with me pushing steel into the belt.

Are you going to keep one set up as a shop mule for prospective purchasers? On a byo belt basis of course.
