3J hawks any good?

There is a guy at a local weekend flea market that has 5 or 6 throwing hawks. They appear to be hand forged and have 3J stamped on one side of the head and H M (?) stamped on the other side. He wants $20 each.

Are these junk?

I've never handled one, but here's a mention of one particular model.

They are good hawks for the money. They are made by someone up in Oregon, I believe.

Hey "shotgun" its only a small informal flea market that springs up on most weekends in my area of NE Pa.

Mine is pretty rough. Not the greatest eye to handle fit from the beginning, and now mine has a very out of round eye because I beat on it with the back of my Fiskers hatchet as a batton.
