3v edc fixed blade...?

+1 Bark River. They have a lot to choose from that would meet your criteria

How about the Koster edc? Its a bit thicker than you would want, but is 3v and comes in a variety of sizes that fall just short of your price point with the sheath included. They would be even cheaper if you picked one up on the exchange that is basically new.

Where can you find a Koster? He's not even taking orders on his website anymore and I've yet to see one listed in the classifieds. I ask because I would like to own my first custom knife and I really like his Bushcraft and WSS knives.

Great suggestions so far! really liking the looks and potential of the gso 3.5. Still looking into all the other suggestions as well.

Knivesshipfree.com (a sponser here so I'm posting a link) has the Koster Scout in any color you want as long as you want tan. They had more colors but they've slowly sold out: http://www.knivesshipfree.com/koste...t-3v-desert-tan-g-10-adirondack-sheath-brown/ Otherwise you're looking at a 2+ year wait for one.

It seems like I've heard that 3v isn't much better than s30v in short blades but I'm sure someone else could elaborate more on that.

The bark river bravo necker gets my vote. Great sized fixed blade for edc in 3v and has interchangeable scales available from bark river if you ever want a new color :)

Cold Steel Master Hunter or Pendleton Hunter both come in DLC coated 3V this year. They might fit your requirements.

The Master Hunter in that steel will be a sweet knife. It's already one of my favorite fixed blades in the San Mai III. 3/16" thick.

you could look for a used Fehrman Peacemaker. It's a fantastic knife with great reviews >IF< you don't have big paws. Retail new is $260 w/o sheath.

Fehrman, as far as I'm concerned is one of if not the best custom maker of 3v. All his knives are 3v, he uses it exclusively and has a proprietary heat treat. He does it himself instead of sending it off to Peter's etc like everybody else. Though I think Gossman does his own as well. Anyways, as far as 3v experts go, I wouldn't look past Fehrman.

A couple things to note, they come with a hard edge and will probably chip on you until you sharpen it a few times. This is because they grind all of their knives before the heat treat, leaving the thinner edge to get hotter, harder, and more brittle.
Since they are a tool and die maker they use CNC machining, leaving little room for error.

Look at the Peacemaker ($265 shipped with leather sheath), it fits your specs perfectly, and is one sexy knife. Be warned though, on their website it says you will get it in 2-4 weeks. I ultimately ended up canceling mine once I found what I was looking for in a knife, I say that because it was 3 months and heard nothing. It left me with too much time on my hands to try other knives. Apparently there is a shortage on 3v and therefore they are really backed up.

Ultimately I'd go with Fehrman, he is a great guy and his customer service is A+.

I don't know about a 4mm blade for the GSO 3.5 ,a bit thick. My 3.5 is a fine knife ,a keeper !

Oh yea I negated the 4mm requirement as it doesn't really fit into most US standard sizes, closest would be 5/32's (thickness of GSO 4.1), where the GSO 3.5 is 0.825mm thinner at 1/8 or 3.175mm. I think OP can get a rocking deal on one right now too

This is what I have. Bark river has lots of small fixed blades in many types of steel.
