I'm offering this Kiridashi up for sale today. It's 3V steel heat treated by Peter's to RC60. The handle is stabilized Spalted Maple Burl and stabilized Koa. It comes with a leather sheath. Both the flats and bevels are satin finished with "gator" belts and I took the edge down to 0.005" before sharpening. Should make a great little utility knife.
Specs:
OAL: 7.25"
Blade: Cutting edge 2.25" satin belt finish, edge is 0.005" before sharpening.
Steel: 0.156" 3V heat treated by Peter's to RC60.
Handle: K&G Stabilized Spalted Maple Burl and K&G stabilized Koa
Sheath: Leather
$SOLD Shipped CONUS, international buyers welcome shipping is extra.
Paypal, checks and money orders accepted.

I have a similar dashi by rcetroy, same blade, different handle and it has been an awesome knife. I am surprized how strong is this super fine point

Have you ever considered a much thicker kiridashi with a much stronger punch type tip and cold chisel type grind? Kind of demolition dashi? I always wanted one which could double as a hawk blade, if the scales are removable.

Hmmm...I hadn't consider something like that but that's intriguing for sure.
