3v knife

Obviously Nathan Carrothers has been mentioned.
Dan Keffler makes amazing customs in Delta CPM3V (I believe he and Carrothhers worked on the heat treat protocols in collaboration?? Or he helped test?)
Yes, I should have mentioned Keffeler in my post. He was part of the Delta 3V protocol development with Nathan (I suspect he did blade testing). So I think that translates to Dan Keffeler's custom blades being heat treated by Peters Heat Treat (like Carothers) to implement Delta 3V.

Would anyone recommend Survive! knives for a 3v option? Otherwise I was thinking bark river bravo 1 or Bavo 1.25 lt or bravo 1lt in 3v

Do your homework before committing money, and waiting on Survives' delivery issues.

Bark River's knives are all convex ground. That makes for a relatively stronger edge, at the expense of pure slicing ability. It's just a design and useage choice, no more, no less. Requires a different resharpening approach than flat or hollow ground knives (example: a "stropping" type action on a surface with some give, like a neoprene or foam mouse pad glued to a stropping board with abrasive over the top of the compliant pad, or as the pro's do, a slack belt on a 72" grinder).

Sometimes they offer the Bravo's in thinner blade stock which helps with slicing ability somewhat.

My favorite custom maker for user fixed blades, is Robert Erickson. Built to order in a reasonable time frame, great quality and attention to detail including heat treat. Wide range of models, wide range of handle materials, including bolsters, liners, pinstripes, mosaic pins if you want fancy, from micarta to fancy stabilized wood, etc.

I own a bunch of his knives (more than 20). See his Instagram for the impressive breadth of his work.

Robert will do 3V, 4V, Z-Tuff, Z-Wear (similar to Cruwear), you name it. He does his own heat treating for most steels, which affords him a level of quality and hardness control (he has a hardness tester, which to me is a key heat treat quality indicator).
