3V Laredo Bowie and 3V Trailmaster Finally Available

In order to clear up any conflicting info, both the Natchez and Laredo 3V versions are definitely stamped with Taiwan and not Italy. I haven't seen the 3V Trailmaster in anyone's hands yet.

Got the email from the site thats been mentioned here before.Too bad the Laredo doesnt have that leather sheath w that belt stud, that plastic sheath just doesnt so it justice. Laredo and TM are 399.00 im gonna wait a bit hopefully the price will drop a bit like they did on the Recon Scout....
What site would that be?

Ya know…I feel like I might be being a little crazy here, but for $399.99 plus tax, should it concern me enough for an exchange if the tip is lopsided on the Laredo? I just can’t unsee it, but I also don’t want to be a big baby about it. The grind (or plunge lines? I think?) on one side of the tip is much deeper than the opposite side, so if I stare straight down the spine of the knife it looks like a chisel grind at the tip. I know it’s getting a little crazy…but for the price…eh I don’t know. Anyone want to check theirs if they got the 3V and see if it’s misaligned at the tip and uneven/completely off symmetry, like this one? I just wish I didn’t even notice it but dangit I did. It isn’t that huge of a deal but like I said for the price I just wanted to see what the fellow members here think. Thanks in advance

i've returned knives for that very reason

If it is bad enough / driving you crazy enough, you will never be satisfied with it, and for the price - send it back. Ask the retailer to inspect the new replacement knife for you - some of the online retailers say they will do this (I can't confirm if they actually do do this).

I have waited for years for a trailmaster. Decades actually. But I was really excited about getting one in A2. There were other knives I didn't buy while I waited years for that one. Then the announced cancelation, but with the promise of 3V. That was a few years ago now as well.

But here it is.

Sadly for Cold Steel I gave up waiting some time ago. I bought other, perhaps better, large bowies. Still, I am tempted by the Trailmaster, but I won't buy it at that price. Not when I know I have to drop another hundred to replace the sheath.

At that price a knife should be flawless.

The MSRP for an Espada XL is $600, I think?
Got one for $300, + a GRIK and a Voyager XL both for $50 added on.

Would never pay MSRP for CS. Luckily, all in Taiwan made from 3V, S35, SK5, AUS-10 seems to be quality.
Got my 3V SRK for 100+ under MSRP. That's solid.

This is 400 street price though? For the right person...
I appreciate they keep Taiwan factories.

I exchanged the Laredo Bowie with the lopsided bevel.
that was painless, the exchange went smooth and I guess they checked because the replacement they picked is perfect.
Thanks to all that gave input. Very happy now. Hopefully the price drops a little on some of these soon. I had to sell things from the collection to buy this but it’s worth it to me. Especially now
That was really fast. I’m impressed

Ive seen the 3V Trailmaster now for a little less than 400 so far ; id wait till towards the end of the year by then it might be down to 299.00....
I think between 275 and 300 is a good street price for the 3V knives. It should get there, even if temporarily, because I don’t think that many are selling at $399. It’s a little steep. I just didn’t have the patience to wait.

Got the 3V TM, to add to my San Mai TM. The San Mai is no doubt the more beautiful blade, and feels sharper to me. Different grinds. Big difference with the Japanese craftsmanship I think. I actually bought another San Mai TM, just in case they stop making them in Japan.

Edit: posted a pic of all 3 TMs.
