I know this has been asked in a million different ways...

But Im looking for a 4-5" blade, 4.25 would be ideal...

Im wanting this for a general camp/bushcraft knife. I want it right at this size so its small enough to get detailed, yet just large enough to baton kindling as well. I wish the Mora had a better handle and tang as its almost just right, but just not quite enough for baton action in my mind.

Im thinking something along the lines of Ray Mears knife he carries. Seems to be about just right for size, blade thickness and all that. But of coarse that EXACT one is hard to get and $$$. But that is the mold of close to what Im looking for on the blade dimensions .

Now I have looked and if I find something really close to this its priced too high for my budget, am I just going to have to settle for something alot less and just have to deal with it? Or is there something along these lines for under $100? Or am I dreaming?

4-5" in length - full tang

not too wide of a blade, yet not to skinny either just enough to be able baton in a pinch

decent steel

I'm pretty sure Mark Wohlwend or Stomper ( JK Knives ) could set you up with something for around that price.

Mark sold these recently, I'm sure he could make more !

I sqeezed these in between orders (somehow). For those of you that don't like the scandi grind, here are a couple flat ground knives that would do the trick. 4 inch blades and 4 1/4 inch handles, made from 1/8 1095.

99.00 plus shipping, and I WILL ship to Canada!

kydex or leather sheaths available....

Check out Fiddleback's Recluse. Good ~4" design.

+1 on these guys ! Also check with Bryan Breeden (Sicily02 here on BF) He makes on called the HandyLittle Knife or HLK
If you don't want to wait for a custom Then check out Condor tool & knife - theis large bushcrafter looks like what you want & Condor knives are great with great customer service

Check out the Enzo trapper by Brisa. They make it as a kit or a complete knife. If you buy the kit you might save yourself 15-20 bucks last time I checked. It is around $100 I believe. They have a bunch of handle options, and two steel options; either O1 or D2. Seems like a quality knife, and is offered in Scandi or Flat grind. The downside is that you probably aren't gonna get any customer support if you break the knife.

Check out bensbackwoods, I have gone through him for a few purchases and he seems to be good people.

I really like the new Bark River Liten Bror in that size range -- it's all the knife I care to use in the woods. New is closer to $160, though. They sometimes crop up used for around $130 or so.

I will second the ESEE4, the BK-2 s great but he said not to thick, and 1/4 inch for most is "too thick".

More than your desired price limit, but a Dozier Wilderness/Survival would fit your desires. One hell of a knife.

Take a look at the Bark River Knife and Tool Full Tang Kephart and the Aurora. Both are solid knives. I've got the Kephart and it's maybe the best wilderness specific knife I own. Good steel too, A2 tool steel is really durable stuff. Here it is with my Busse Boss Street. The Kephart is my WSK and the Busse is my USK.

Thanks for all the recommendations guys, thats why I asked here...lots of good info to help me out

Some of these names I have not heard of, good to see some options from some custom guys

I had thought about the ESEE and even the Ontario Rangers as well.

I originally thought about the BK2 but just seemed like the blade was a lil bit too wide and thick for what I was wanting.

Lots to think about.

Both the ESEE RC4 and the Fallkniven F1 are good choices and come in at the very top of your price range (up to $100). The Becker BK2 is a great knife and well within your price range but the blade is wide and thick and the knife (first generation) weighs 16 ounces without the sheath. A personal favorite (mainly for its price) is the Gerber Big Rock - it is about 4.5 inches and is <$30 delivered.

A Mora that might just fit your needs is the Mora Craftline Allround - it is essentially a Clipper with a thicker blade (2.5 mm = 0.10") and a longer (better) tang... oh, and the spine if finished/polished smooth. :D The nice thing about the Craftline Allround is that it is only about $15 - say $20 with shipping. I think you need to get one and pound it for a while and tell us how it held up! Heck, at $20, this would be a cheap knife experiment!!!:D I have several Moras although I don't have an Allround (yet) so I can't give you any first hand dope...
