I received this knife today and my first impression was "WOW!" Now that I've had some time to get to know it, I thought I'd share my thoughts with y'all.

Initially, I was stunned by its size. It is a big, beefy folder and yet it is graceful despite its size. It is perfectly suited to my big mitts; big enough that I can choke up for a full four finger grip or hang my little finger off to allow room for my thumb to rest along the spring. Close inspection of the recurved blade reveals excellent-- if not perfect-- grinds. From the edge to the swedge this blade just flows with each line meeting exactly as it should.

And then there's the bone scales. This was not my first choice for color but I trusted Kerry's judgment and couldn't be happier with the results. I'm eagerly looking forward to watching the already rich brown color mature and darken a bit over the years. Kerry's custom jigging further enhances the bone, lending the knife an instant "lived-in" quality.

It's clear Kerry's buddy, Tony Bose, has influenced his design and execution but it's equally clear that Kerry is a maker who places a premium on fit and finish as this knife walks and talks with much higher priced knives. Along those lines, this knife is milled with a phosphor bronze pivot bushing, perfect pull, solid half stop and a nice little snap on close.

In case you haven't figured it out by now, I really, really, like this knife. It's clear to me that Kerry is a man after my own heart who wouldn't sell a knife to a stranger that he wouldn't want his own brother to carry. So in that sense, I feel like family or a least a friend who was smart enough to get in line for one of his knives. And now that I've made it to the front of the line and received my prize? I think I may just have to move to the back of the line again because I'm sure any future knife from this maker would leave me equally thrilled.

Lastly, let me say that Kerry is a wonderful guy to work with who exhibits all the traits custom knife buyers hold most dear. As a result, I never once doubted that this knife would meet and exceed my expectations. Thank you again Kerry for making this knife for me.

TexasSlim and Kerry.
Congrats to both of you. Kerry, that knife looks more than all good to me. :D.

I'm glad it arrived ok and that you like it. We know it isn't perfect because if it was, I wouldn't need to make any more. :) They're somewhat addictive to make in that way...always striving to make the next one better than the last one.

Thanks for the kind words TS and enjoy using the knife.

Truth be known, my wife looked it over before I put it in the mail, so I guess that counts a little bit.

Note: No girls or animals were harmed in the making of this knife. D:
