The SAKs just aren't my thing. I like the older boy scout looking knives. There are some good suggestions here.

I second that. Don't bother with the current versions, they don't compare to the older knives.

I was lucky enough to pick up a Camillus like Christian's at the junk shop. Patina and pocket worn scales. I traded into a Remington R4 (another Camillus make), and a Primble scout in a trade at a gun show. The older ones are out there, and cheaper/better made than the new ones.

Does anybody make a traditional-style camper/scout pattern with high-tech stainless steels? Like CPM-154 or S30V, etc?
