That Samsher is the catch of the day.

I can't tell you how glad I am to see a DOD, been awhile and I missed them terribly.

Agree on all counts big time, especially on the Samsher. If I didn't already have one I would have snapped it up. The Ultimate BOTD!

First post, I have been drooling over the WWII and the AK for months now, they seem to be ever so popular. Maybe I can get one before the rush.

Excellent deals. Suprised they are still here. I already have a few so I am trying to resist.

EMS Both Kagags.

Received the DD.They won't be ugly when I'm done with them. Hopefully, I won't be missing a finger tip and experiencing a broken wrist from the dang polishing machine as I did from the past. Apparently I'm a slow learner.

They don't look ugly to me now but I do see a huge potential in both of them.

Do respect the polishing machine, drop your guard for one second and it'll get ya. I been got a few times my own self.

I hope both they and you do fine, BB.

I've been daydreaming about the Katne's or a Biltong for weeks now.. Now that I've seen some... let's just say it is getting pretty intense.

Wishing I had seen them first ;)

I'm glad they found a good home. Just jealous, not envious :)

edit: Looking for a small HI to carry around with me that won't scare the hoplophobes :)

I'm both jealous and envious. Is that a sin. Though shalt not covet they neighbors sharp pointy things.

We haven't seen a Biltong posted for a very long time. Hadn't thought about it until you mentioned it.

I'm just glad to see anything, a true sign of a semi return to normalcy in Yangdu's life. I'm sure she's ready to coast a bit and deserves it too.

Cool I was able to score what looks to be one of the ETA: wooden handled WWII, will be my first khukri. Time to read up on making my strikes count.

Assuming your a machine man! Me too:thumbup: Live for it! You will be happy as can be with that Ang Khola. Dont expect a machined out piece of perfect steel. Instead you will get a piece of steel hand formed with soul and heart! I wont say any more till you put your hands on it and see for your self. There is nothing else even close. You made a great choice with the AK. Ask anything that ales you and there are plenty of seasoned choppers here that can help you out with getting closer to your new piece. Enjoy!

I am a machinist mainly tool and die, one of my reasons for being here was this is the place to learn all about heat treats and ovens. Its a lot to take in worth it to read before diving in. Everything i read on forums points back to BF and HI, start with best quality you wont be unhappy. Looking forward to handling this kuk.

Looks like you got the "18 inch 33 ounce WWII by Lachhu." That's a heavy one. For chopping, you want to let the blade do the work. Relatively loose grip, tighten the grip just before the point of impact, and don't try to do it all with one stroke. There are some videos in Youtube-land that show people unfamiliar with khukuris whacking away like maniacs, probably giving themselves carpal tunnel syndrome.

If the hairline crack in the handle bothers you at all, it's easy to fix with superglue. Mask off the rest of the blade, let the superglue wick itself into the crack. After the superglue cures, sand it down with increasingly fine grits. Maybe start with 400 grit and work your way up to 2000 grit or until the glued area is as smooth as the rest of the handle.
