Blem #1 -- 20 inch 1.5 pound Kumar Kobra by Kumar himself. Wood handle and 10/10 conditon. Yangdu says we are overstocked in this model and has instructed me to sell it for $75. UBBB.

Blem #2 -- 17 inch 21 ounce wood handled Ganga Ram Special by the best kami in Nepal, Bura. Only thing wrong with this rig is about 5 or 10 minutes worth of rust. Yangdu has it offered for 1/2 price and we pay shipping = $75 and that is another UBBB.

Blme #3 -- 18 inch 1.5 pound Gelbu Special by Sher with all the usual Sher features. Yangdu says there is a substantial crack in horn handle that needs epoxy repair but she has it priced right = $65 delivered.

Blem #4 -- 15 inch 22 ounce Ang Khola by Kumar. Very good work by a very good kami. Superglue fix in horn handle put this one in the blem box. Take it home today for 1/2 price at $62.50 and we pay shipping. Five minutes work and 5 cents worth of superglue gets you a khukuri that will last 100 years.

No calls. Email to get one of these very fairly priced khukuris.

very tempting - espescially the GS - but no Euros left this month...
:(

Still wondering wether to get a 16.5" WWII or a 18" GS next... need some lighter blades that still have chopper qualities.

some good looking deals, but after getting three in three days, best to wait a little...unless there was a 15" movie model;)

I would love that GS but my wife would kill me. I have other bills to pay first.

I lost out on a Savage 99 .308 today, but the guy's bringing another .308 in tomorrow.

Besides, grandnephew leaving tomorrow for a week at Fort Campbell before shipping out to Iraq on 11/30.

Congratulations to whoever got blem #2. I just received a very similar GRS blem by Bura yesterday and it is impressive. The edge of the sweet spot was shaving sharp out of the box, and ten minutes with a 600 grit belt, buffing wheel and strop had the full length as sharp as I have gotten any khuk so far.

Bura must have made the karda and chakmak for this thing himself, because they are perfect. The Chakmak is shaped exactly like the AC antiques, but bigger and much better formed. Also, the Karda is hard, perfectly ground and perfectly symetrical on both sides of the blade. Got it shaving with the strop alone.

Can't thank Yangdu enough for this one. The rust which presumably put it in the blem box was a 1/8" strip on the cutting edge at the tip. All this came off with the first 600 grit pass, and buffing blended all signs of grind into the magic stone.

I lucked out on the GRS and I am looking forward to seeing it. I just happened to check the forum this morning at the right time.I hope my GRS is as nice as the one Cliff received.

I think we may be looking at a slow 10 days or so. But, you never know. When we get rid of #4 I'll email Yangdu and see what she can come up with for next four blems.

I think that what we have here is a symptom of the 15 inch AK's own success. While I don't have access to UB's marketing data, from what I've read it seems that everybody has one of these. For many it is the first H.I. and our introduction to H.I.

I wish I had the email address of that guy that posted a couple days ago about Blems. I don't think one can go wrong with one of these for a first kuk. I looked, it isn't listed in his profile

Of course what do I know. I thought Michael Jackson was weird in his highwater pants, white glove, Billie Jean days.

Phft.

Edited to correct glaring idiot errors

Sure would like to help out with this and get the AK. Picked one up for someone at work. Passed it on at the price I paid for it. The person wanted a present for their Dad. They were very impressed with the AK. These indeed make great presents and this one is just perfect for that. :D
