I made this earlier this year from 6061 aluminum and haven't really put the time into turning it into something. I designed the reflector in AutoCAD and cut it on our CNC. This is not a simple sphere, it is a complex parabolic equation (turned 3D) and then CNC cut accurate to .0005". I then polished it to mirror finish with red rouge as my final polish. I made a cover with plexiglass and put a heatsink (with a DX driver, I don't remember which one) with leads on it at the focal point. It needs an emitter.

If you don't know what a Parabolic reflector is, read this. The idea is a light source is placed at the focal point (where the heat sink is) and all of the light is projected back in a 4" cylinder (does not spread over distance like a normal flashlight). I tried it out by shinning a light into it, and it makes a tight circle on the cieling. If you have a raw emitter, this effect will be greatly magnified.

I am willing to sell it for $100 shipped or trade it for something nice.
Shoot me an email at: michaelmcgo@gmail.com and we can work a deal out.
