Hey guys,

I got knife #4 done and wanted your feedback and critiques on it. Last week I just received my makers mark stencil from Ernie at Blue Lightning Stencils who was great to work with. So this one is my first knife with my mark etched in. The mark is basically a fire helmet shield with my initials in it. Also put together a make shift light box in hope of getting some better picture quality.

I tried my hand at another bowie style knife which is on the small side. This was my first attempt at a false edge as well which I made a little to thick I think. The guard didn't come out as planned, and my file work needs improvement because I wanted crisper lines but I did learn from it. I will give all the specs below. Thanks for looking.

Steel-1084 1/8" thick
Handles- Stabilized Hawaiian mango wood from Burl Source
Guard/spacers- Brass with black spacers

OAL- 11"
Blade length- 5 3/4"

Thanks Peter, that means a lot coming from someone like you whose quality and depth of work is extremely impressive. Now I just need to try and make a sheath for her.

Thanks guys for comments and encouragement. The journey has been fun so far but it has been a battle convincing my wife why I need more tools.

Thanks David, I did put a lot of hours into it trying to get it dialed in. William the problem is if I buy more diamonds then I have less funds for a good 2x72 just don't tell my wife I said that.

Thanks Tommy, I am really happy with how it turned out. I can't give enough praise for Ernie at Blue Lighting Stencils. He designed the mark with my input and what I wanted and the whole process was fast and simple. I etched it in with a battery charger and salt water which was not difficult at all. WhiteBone knives has a great tutorial on YouTube on how to etch which really helped me.
