Hi everyone,

I'm wondering if you guys have any recommendations for a 4" (+/-0.5") full tang knife with a scandi grind costing no more than $70.

I was looking at the Real Steel Bushcraft II in D2, but the fact that the company has no warranty whatsoever makes me somewhat uneasy. ~$55 is not something I'd be happy to throw away if the knife breaks the first time I take it out...

Thanks.

Mora Garberg? I think they are right at $70'ish. Full tang 4.3" blade. Scandi grind.

Terävä Jääkäripuukko 110 is the best you can find.

Condor Woodlaw.

4in scandi ground blade with a full tang and micarta handles. The blade steel is 1075, and it comes with a good leather sheath. Runs ~$55.

Also, if that price is too high, they sell just the blade blank(ground, heat-treated, and ready for handle scales) for around $15.

I was looking at that RealSteel Bushcraft 2 last night. D2, g10 and a kydex sheath for $54? I almost bought one when I ordered my Grip. But then thought about the wife opening the package while I am sleeping or something and realized one is enough. From what I understand, Boker handles the warranty on the RealSteel? I don't know about the warranty but I know it is under $60 so if you break it oh well.

Cold Steel Peace Maker III. 4" blade, scandi grind, full tang, comfortable handle.

Only about $25. Full tang (Although it is completely encapsulated in the kraton grip.)

Was going to recommend them as well. Outside of pride, these fit the bill quite nicely.
I've got a scandi Bushcrafter, a scandi Woodsman Pro and a saber ground Woodsman Pro and love all three.

Yes, I'm familiar with the Jaakaripuukko 110. It seems like a solid blade, but I just can't get excited about it. I know it is not rational, but there is nothing rational about wanting so many knives either. :D

I did not know that they had a knife blank (I like to make handles for knives...) I wish the woodlaw had some form of finger protection tough, because I have cut myself accidentally due to my hand sliding. Silly? Yes. But there is nothing wrong with trying to make it a bit harder to happen.

The one thing that always worried me about Condor's is their use of 1075. I'm not 1095 holds an awesome edge for very long, so I can only imagine 1075. Some people had the edge roll with normal use. What has been your experience?

Enzo trapper or camper kit. Ahti vaara or Marttiini lynx/lumberjack.

This is the main challenge of my question. I know well that there are many, many good knives within the physical characteristics I described if I go to the 100 dollar mark. However, $70 is frankly already more than what I'm considering. My hope is to stay closer to ~$50.

On the other hand, I did find that EnZo has blanks. That's interesting, but I find $40 for just a blank (is cheapest actually!) is a bit too much.
