The Huntsman
- Style: Drop point
- Steel: AEB-L - HRc: 61
- OAL: 9 ¼” - Blade length: 4 1/8”
- Handle length: 4 ¼” - Thickness: 1/8"
- Width: 1" - Sheath: Kydex

There are some slight blemish issues with these guys. They were taken to 220 grit and finished with a fine Scotch Brite belt. Some of the grind lines weren't completely removed. Their performance is not effected.
My loss is your gain. Each is only $110.

How far do you usually do the grind down? I saw that you went to 220 grit. Is it possible to grind these so they're as good as it can get before they go out?

Now you're talking, nice shape to it. Finally saw the blade thickness above.

I can sand all the way to 2,000 grit to produce a mirror finish. When I work with high carbon steel, I polish the blade to a higher grit to decrease the surface area, thus reducing chance of rust. With these knives I wanted a satin finish - 220 grit with a fine Scotch Brite gives an outstanding result - and working out the kinks of a new jig. Is it possible to grind these better? Without a doubt.
The natural canvas micarta on the right side reflects light differently near the ricasso. Hand sanding could easily take that out, and provide a neat contrast in grind lines.
The black micarta has a slight gouge at the plunge lines. I was able to take out most of the issue and blend the rest together, but it's still visible if someone were to study the blade closely.
The tan G10 has a wavy grind line on the right hand side.
Finally with the orange G10, I got everything dialed in and produced what I wanted all along. I kept the price the same to produce a quick sale.
All edges are hand sharpened, which takes between 30 to 45 minutes for the initial sharpening. The cost of lost time to adjust the blemishes and sharpening would be too great. I couldn't in good conscious place a higher price on them. My intention was to give the buyer a fantastic deal.
Thank you for the great question. I hope my rambling helps.
Feel free to PM me if you were thinking about picking up another one. Perhaps I'm just reading too deeply into your question.

Thanks for the great explanation.
I'm going to wait and catch one of your Kepharts.
I’m real glad to hear that!
I’ll send you a PM tonight about the Kephart’s. If things go according to plan, I’ll have 3 made up next week. Plus, they’re going to be in Nitro-V, which I’m extremely excited to finally use!
I hear some amazing things about it.
