4-inch Cuda Maxx

Well, it's not the first time that I've been in a minority and it won't be the last. It is just that MAXX means "Maximum" to me, not some dinky 3.5" knife or even a 4" knife.

MAXX doesn't come from "Maximum". I understand it comes from the movie, "Mad Max", according to Darrel Ralph -- who should know! :)

Now go to his website and look at the 7" Gibbs Maxx  That's the MaXXimum!!!

Call me the devil's advocate to everyone, i suggest they make a 2 inch keychain Mad Maxx! (obviously, this is a JOKE).

Don't laugh. Darrel could make a two inch Maxx out of titanium and some cobalt alloy or a very stainless steel that would work real well on a necklace! :D

Hi Guys, I have to jump in on this one too and say I'd buy a smaller version as well in a heartbeat. I used to own a 4" dagger bladed Maxx and it was absolutely the most perfect folder. Lately I have gotten on a smaller knife kick and I'm EDCing 3" folders so if somehow they do make a smaller version please, please, please make one in 3" too! Hey that 2"er sounds awesome as well! What a great pocket knife that would be with an S30V blade!

Come on Camillus!:D

Take care, Heath

They may sound funny, thinking of the Maxx as a BIG knife, but the truth is, a small knife has a disadantage: it's harder to open. Fumbling fat fingers on tiny nailnicks are trouble! But the Maxx just snags on a pocket or a thumbnail and snaps open!

Go mini :D

So when is Camillus expected to debut all these knives that it has been hiding from us lately? Is there some kinda show? When is the show, should that be the case.

The only custom folder I own is a 4" Darrel Ralph Madd Maxx. I love the larger versions, but mine has proven itself to be a tough and versatile tool. The design works very well at both sizes.

I believe Camillus will be showing some of them at SHOT and probably the balance at Blade.

I was lucky enough to sneak a peak a couple of initial drawings. Wish I could tell you about them.;)

I'll add my voice to the crowd. My Maxx is great, but a tad too large to be practical for EDC, so I almost never carry it. I bought it because it was just too damn cool . ;)

I'd love a 4" (or even a 3") Maxx. I'd definitely buy one!

From what Ralph Darrel's site is discribing, you can get it in 3" or 4". With or without robo assist. Just whip out your $600.

If you think thats cool then try mounting the clip on the other end for tip up carry. You now have a wave activated knife. Just pull it out of your pocket and that monster will already be open.

Cool idea, but I have visions of slicing my suit jacket all to shreds while I'm whipping that mutha out. I don't think a waved Maxx would be particularly compatible with office attire.

Another vote for the 4" or less maxx with tip up or down option. Same blade profile as the larger model.

And love this knife as it seems the perfect size compared to the 5.5 version.
Actually the blade masures at 3.9 inches, and may be that length for you NYC people :)
It has the spearpoint blade, and "robo assist" with carbon fiber inlays.
Also has been tapped, and drilled for tip-up carry, and a "V" icon replaces the holes as it also works as a blade stop so you can't push the lockbar over too far if you have the knife as a "tip-up" carry.
I also have an Aftermath, and the large Cuda Maxx bowie but the Maxx II in the 3.9 blade seems to fit the bill the best.
If Camillus comes out with the 3.9" version it should be perfect for pocket carry, and also would not be as costly as the custom version which now costs $725 according to his latest pricing on his website.
Just my .02 cents :)

Bob, what blade style is the 4"?

This may be a new record. I'm more than a year late in responding to your question. :foot: Sorry about that!

My custom Maxx has a 4" recurved version of the spearpoint blade in Talonite. I'm not sure whether Darrel has made any more like it.

I won't claim it's the prettiest of the blade options, but it probably is the most versatile.
