Hello knife people! I have four knives for your consideration, and let's get to it!!
(All knives are heat treated in house using the Delta heat treat protocol with "cryo" treatments. They are wet ground under flood and hand sharpened on diamond stones. I use thin stock, full flat grinds, thin edges, and are meant to excel at cutting.)
Knife # 1 Verde Ranch Hunter "Sith Lord" in K390
I am sure you're all familiar with K390. Bohler's version of CPM-10V. Super high wear resistance with good toughness. One of the most popular steels at the moment, and for great reason. The handle is black canvas micarta with red g10 liners and spacers. Hand rubbed satin blade finish. Feels great in the hand with all grip styles. Tang is skeletonized for weight reduction. The full flat grind terminates in a very thin edge, sharpened on resin bonded diamond stones and then stropped with diamond loaded leather. This would make a great hunting knife, EDC, or even kitchen knife. This would be a great gift for a fire fighter, or yourself!. Includes kydex sheath.
OAL: 8 1/4"
Blade: 4"
Handle" 4 1/4"
Thickness: 0.092" taper to tip
Steel: Bohler K390 65HRC
Edge: 15° per side 1 micron
Price: $275

Knife # 2 Verde Ranch Hunter "Obi Wan" in CPM-M4
I am sure you're all familiar with CPM-M4. One of the most well balanced tool steels ever made, and wins many BladeSports cutting competitions. It has amazing toughness for the hardness and carbide volume. My favorite tool steel. The handle is black canvas micarta with blue g10 spacers. Hand rubbed blade finish. Feels great in the hand with all grip styles. Tang is skeletonized for weight reduction. The full flat grind terminates in a very thin edge, sharpened on resin bonded diamond stones and then stropped on diamond loaded leather. This also makes for a great hunting knife, EDC, or even kitchen knife. This would be a great gift for a law enforcement officer, or yourself! Includes kydex sheath.
OAL: 8 1/4"
Blade: 4"
Handle: 4 1/4"
Thickness: 0.080" taper to tip
Steel: Crucible CPM-M4 64HRC
Edge: 15° per side 1 micron
Price: $275

Knife # 3 Stuart's Shop Knife in K390
I made this knife for myself after I dialed in a good heat treat for K390. I wanted to test out the steel and get a feel for what it likes. I am really blown away by the performance. Don't really want to get rid of it, but I don't need another shop knife. Handle is black canvas micarta with red g10 liners, and very neutral for any grip style. Blade has a heavy taper for a needle like point on the K tip. Hand rubbed blade finish. Tang is skeletonized for weight reduction. The full flat grind terminates in a very thin edge, sharpened on resin bonded diamond stones and then stropped on diamond loaded leather. This makes for an excellent paring knife or EDC, or even bird and trout. I can make a kydex sheath if requested. Also, maker's mark will be applied prior to shipping.
OAL: 8 1/8"
Blade: 4"
Handle: 4 1/8"
Thickness: 0.105" heavy taper to tip
Steel: Bohler K390 65HRC
Edge: 15° per side 1 micron
Price: SPF

Japanese inspired kitchen utility knife in CPM-4V
4V is the big brother to 3V, and has been the go to steel of choice in recent BladeSports cutting competitions. It makes for a superb carbon steel for a kitchen knife. As always, the stock is thin and the slightly convex grind terminates in a very thin edge geometry for great cutting and slicing. The handle is a nice piece of claro walnut married to a black paper micarta bolster. The balance point is perfect, just in front of the handle and maker's mark (that I forgot to apply before epoxy to handle, but will be taken care of prior to shipping). Hand rubbed satin blade finish. Mirror polished spine. I have a paring knife in CPM 4V and absolutely LOVE this steel. Diamonds are not really requred for sharpening 4V. Plastic edge guard will be provided.
OAL: 13 1/8"
Blade: 8 1/8"
Cutting edge: 7 1/2"
Handle: 5"
Thickness: 0.093" distal taper
Steel: Crucible CPM 4V 64.5HRC
Edge: 15° per side 1 micron
Price: SPF

Paypall preferred (samuraistuart@yahoo.com). I do take Venmo as well! All knives come with free shipping in the USA as well as a lifetime unconditional warranty. Something goes wrong, the knife gets repaired or replaced. I ask that the buyer be aware that most all of my knives are cutting tools and are made only for their intended use. I like to make thin, hard knives that excel at cutting and not necessarily able to take abuse. If you have any questions, feel free to DM me here or contact me by email (samuraistuart@yahoo.com). Thanks for taking a look, and follow me on Instagram at stuartalandavenport.
