4 legged trail buddies

Inspired by one of pit's latest posts, I would like to see more of everyones hikin buddies. Here is mine...

I am not a fan of taking dogs afield, unless they are hunting dogs, and I am hunting something.

I sure don't like running into folks with dogs when I am out hiking.

Just my opinion, others may have differing thoughts.

I've never had an issue, and on some pretty rugged hikes I've had to let my dog off the leash...most of the people I've met have been dog friendly. I do make sure I grab him so he's not too friendly as that's just proper owner-etiquette. I also police up (or bury) his "business"...that is one thing that rubs me raw is leaving your mutt's big'ol turds on the trail Nothing gives me better security at night than my dog sleeping beneath my hammock!

I'm the same, it just happens that me and my pooches are always hunting for something....fatwood, berries, fungi...the list goes on !

A few shots of my most reliable and enthusiastic hiking companion, Ruby. She's a yellow lab, and she likes nothing more than hitting the trails (or forging new ones while I'm snowshoeing in the winter).

Great to see some other canine companions!
