I am moving forward with another knife design. I no longer feel handicapped working without a belt grinder. The work on my other knife is progressing well. I continue to draw knife designs and look at the work of the master craftsmen whose knives speak volumes about design and execution. This build will continue slowly playing second fiddle to the 8" Fighter.

I like the blade shape. I also like the rounded butt of the second handle. If it were me I'd radius the point on the underside of the handle to make it more reminiscent of a palm swell. Looking forward to seeing this one progress!

Started shaping the blade. I think you are right Shawn. I will most likely make a trial or two out of soft pine.

Looks good. May I offer a simple suggestion? Where the tang meets the blade, radius the transition. This will help prevent stress risers.

Coming along slowly. I am working on this knife more as a learning experience before continuing on the fighter. That was not my original intention, just a change in plans.

Slight changes to the design of the blade. I modified the choil area and added a slight curve to the upper third of the plunge line. On this knife I like the higher plunge line, although on the larger fighter I am making, it goes up only about 2/3 toward the spine and is straight. I have also redrawn the handle. I think that will be the final version. The knives have a better flow to the design and I believe will be a bit more comfortable in hand. The top drawing is a new design for a 4.75" hunting knife.

Hi Warrior, Good to see you over here. After the Fighting 9, I had to start working on my own designs.

Hey, Hawk! Someone bumped you fighting 9 thread in the Becker forum so I thought I'd check out your other work. Very cool! How's this one progressing?
