Looks like the Amtrak is coming home to Mongo! Woooo Hooooooo!:D

Sure, Mongo, it's "Woooo Hooooooo!:D" now, but wait until you have 27 of that siru's brothers and sisters as well, and you start running out of places to put them. Welcome to the world of HIKV :D ;) Seriously, let us know how you like it once it arrives.

Add to it: abandon all un/available cash and sanity! Been thinking about getting my C&R, but then I'd really have no cash.
Who here has one and is it as great as it sounds?

I've got one(C&R) and it is better than great. I spent the entire day working on two beautiful old Czech 98/22 8mm Mausers that are real works of art.Solid walnut stocks that restore like a champ.

I actually received three but gonna have to send one back for a substitute due to rust pitting on barrel exterior. The interior rifling is the sharpest of the lot. Then I went and ordered another cause you can't buy just one.

At $59.00 I don't know of a better value in the world as these were made on the original German Machinery.

Of course, the Swedish Mausers are my treasures but they're up around 169 to 230 each now.

I plan to call Century Arms in a few days and order some more U-fixem's, they send you 5 rifles for 150.00. The last U-fixem order was 5 Polish Nagant M-44's of which all 5 were made in 1952 and looked like they had never been fired. I ended up with 4 near perfect rifles by using one for parts to fix the other 4.I took a 4"grinder and cut off the bayonet lugs then smoothed the metal down to the same size as the rest of the barrel on the belt grinder, then cold blued the naked metal and they make perfect trunk rifles. If I'm not mistaken the long barrel version MN91/30 (7.62X54r) was the rifle that Seitzev(SP)? used when he killed the top German sniper Kronig in WWII see movie "Enemy at the Gate".They're selling in like new/excellent condition now for $54.95 for two or more.

:D

RandallRandazzl-- welcome to the HI cantina. Good score on that AK. Are you a Fan of Bura?

Your signature is interesting. My Latin's a bit rusty:rolleyes: ;) ...No great genius is without a little craziness? (that's pretty much a guess)

So, Munk, if I want to sound highfalutin', I should refer to a khukuri as a dementiae? Wow, I gotta try that out:

Oh, Saturninus, pass me thy dementiae so that I may clear this rank undergrowth;).

Whaddya think?
--Josh

That Garud is dynamite. I've been trying all day to ignore it and hope it goes away. It makes my wallet flinch.

With great khukuri comes great craziness...

yep yep thats a number 3 for me...dont know how I'll tweak this one yet

On that one I just used PCB without cutting it down, I covered the blade and let it sit for a min in the sun then I use 1000 grit wet sandpaper with ajax and lightly rubbed the blade down getting a nice slury then washed it off with water and dried it. I think I did that process 3x then I used Master Formula polish as the final step. I found out the other night that when I placed Birchwood Plum Brown on another blade cold which I did not like how it looked so I then polished it back off and that brought out the temperline very nice, was a surprise... I'll see about posting up a pic 2morro or the next

Feeling weak, head spinning...HIKV reaction to the Garud still available. I'm still not over my initial impression of my new Hanuman and now the Dragon calls to me...

M u s t r e s i s t .....

Someone please pick up your new Garud before I collapse!

.....I think, you may have read the same brief history of Christmas I did, where I was reminded of the Saturn festival, drink and riot practised by the Pagans in December.

Josh, I thought there was a word that sounded like 'saturn; that meant too much wine, but I can't find it. The closest I see is saturnine.

As for Latin, anyone with a background in that I give a nod to and step back out of their way. Private Catholic schools being good for something after all.

Munk, that would be saturnalia, a Roman pagan winter solstice celebration that probably included quite a bit of the aforementioned "too much wine" :D
--Josh

Nothing wrong with that word, but it isn't mine. I suspect Saturnine is used for "dark, flushed, (read ugly drunk( as well as lead poisening. I only own a couple dictionaries now.
