.40, .45 Ammo Reccomendations please

For the range, I go with the CCI Blazer non reloadable aluminum case ammo in 230G ball for the 45ACP- reliable, clean, and at a fair price. Shipping costs may be lower due to much less overall weight per case! The scrap aluminum can be turned in for a few $. :)

For hostiles, the Federal 230G HydraShoks have never failed for me. Just remember, the 3 most important factors for choosing the right ammo for your particular sidearm is reliability, reliability, reliability. It must go bang every time! Otherwise all other following factors don' t mean much.

Testing various loads of different brands is costly. But you do really need to run a few boxes of each potential brand/ load thru your firearm before loading up for business.

ammo prices have gone through the roof in the last couple years.

Like they are made from oil or something. :grumpy:

I have good luck with cheaperthandirt. Noticed a recent glock magazine sale for $16 a piece, all your favorite glock flavors. :)

A little late here but try www.buyammo.com. They run sales on .45 about once a month, $243.75 for 1,000 rounds. Comes out to about $12.20 for a box of 50 rounds. I should have mentioned that it is the Blazer brand. They also run sales on American Eagle .45 by Federal.
