I didn't know it was a necker. Hard to tell by the pic. That thing would look awesome with a 3 inch blade and 4 inch handle!
 
Nice! I saw the pic you posted of the blank you have cut for the micro,looks like a perfect edc/around the campfire knife.What kind of scales are you thinking of putting on it?

I happen to love 2.75in for a blade length, so this is looking perfect :).

Mmm food for thought. A nice wood? Micarta? That would look great with an dark wood or black micarta. Have you ever done a G10? Hunter orange or a multi color G10 would really be great on that one too. Easy to find around the fire and a slim profile. Some sweet dreams in the making tonight!
 
Ok,so obviously I'm going to have to wake up early and see if you've picked the winner.Just looked at alpha knife and saw some gorgeous stabilized sheoak rays that would be my wood choice,even if I had to buy it myself and send it too you(may pick up this piece anyway,beautiful) Crossing fingers! As far as I can see, mtnfolk mike won with #444. I came in second (I think) with 427, and geargeek came third with 387
