Actually, this is how many he wants and an equal number of guns and he's working on both.

And he has so many hid out in pieces, all in different places that were he to try and put together a Thompson he would end up with an M-14.

And Rusty doesn't count his khukuri's so he won't have to tell his SO how many he actually has if she should ask.
I don't have that many hiding places.
