403 Big Sky with S&W 625

Just got my new 403 in the mail today along with a new set of Ahrends grips for my S&W 625 JM and thought I'd share a pic:

and here is a pic with the 625, the 403, and my 881T:

It just seems to me that Buck knives & guns just go together.

I still like that Big Sky knife . A .45 auto in a revolver . Ok. Those are nice grips too . Are they of walnut ? DM

What do you think of the sheath? I have a couple of these and they are great knives, I just don't like the clip on the sheath.

The 403 is going to get some kydex soon. One of my Kajukenbo classmates is a part time knifemaker and does some real nice kydex sheaths.

I know that the sheath has been a concern of many. I came across this today and wonder if that is indeed a correct sheath for the 403. I have only ever seen the metal clipped version.

Or has someone just stuck a sheath that somewhat fits, in the box? Looks more like an alpha hunter sheath to me.

Looks like the sheath for the 390 (Omni Hunter 10PT) to me. I just compared that picture to the one in the catalog and other than the angle of the "Buck" stitching they look the same.

Does it fit well? The 403 clip style sheath just does'nt cut it and may have had something to do with them not selling as well as it should have.

I love my 403.I can not even think of how many deer it has gutted. Only thing I don't like is the kydex insert in the leather sheath.Congrats on the new knife.

Dont know, I copied that pic of a popular auction site.
Doesnt look like it would to me. I think Dave is right. I browsed the Buck site under sheaths after posting it and Omni 10pt fixed looks correct.

I didnt think I saw a nylon for the Alpha, maybe they dont make em anymore.

Is that yours or a file photo? If yours, does your 403 fit in it?

That's a "borrowed" picture, but here's mine. The 403 fits great in the Alpha sheath. It's a little wider than need be, but when the 403 is strapped in, there's no movement or rattle. I have a leather sheath for the Alpha's also, but in my opinion, the nylon is a better fit for the 403.
