Charlie Lewis (lewisrazors.com) has an excellent video on youtube. His method works great. He didn't temper the anvil and it works great. We discussed the fact that it had enough mass that it would auto-temper and evidently it did. The video shows the rebound of a ball bearing and its in the 90% range.
