4140 needed

Does anybody know of a supplier for 4140 steel? I love the way this stuff cleans up and shines like chrome. Mostly need it in bar sizes.

Bruce, Pacific Machine and Tool Steel in Portland may have it. If you would like me to check let me know. What size bar are you after. Only bad thing about getting it there you have to buy a whole bar unless they have it in a rem.....

Bruce...have you tried MSC Industrial Supply? I seem to remember that they have 4140.

Best thing about MSC is their shipping. Most of the time it is next day!

These guys have started carry alloy steels, cut to length service too. Dunno about their prices but Other stuff we buy from them has been competitive and mainly fast.

Bruce, I was looking at my USE Enco cataloge and they carry 4142 in 3' bars. Its all P/G and hardened. I was surprized, it seemed pretty expensive....
