Ordered some of this today to play with, some 5/8ths round. Anyone have any experience with it?

.48 to .53 carbon. Makes good dead axles on bull dozers, load bearing shafts, and fine rifle barrells. I don't think it would be good blade steel.

It should be a Great Chopper! The Chrome & Moly make decent shock resistance. and the .50 carbon will allow it to get hard into the medium high 50s RC. They made an experimental 4180 that I'd kill to get a hold of. Estwing makes it's axes, hammers, and tools out of 1055 so this stuff will make killer axes, hawks, machette's, choppers of all shapes and sizes. Have fun with it!
