Does anyone know anything about 426 date codes?? Seems I found a pair and one of them has no stamp and one of them has a single "dot" to the right of the 426. Weird huh?

Here's an overall pic of the knives.

If you check page 3 of the Dec 05 BCCI Newsletter, Joe is looking for photos of examples with that stamping...

The Bucklite article is in the Mar 05 issue...

I think the drop point blade was only offered in the olive drab two piece handle for one year, 1985. The clip point in olive drab was offered in 1986 - 1987. After that they went to a one piece handle and made them until 1995. The maroon handles came out in 1984.

...Thanks Mike...and yes Dave...that is a drop point. They are both 2 piece handles and are in superb, mint condition. That clip point has one single "dot" next to the 426 stamp...the drop point has no date stamp. The canvas sheaths are unused and perfect also and it appears that they are correct for both knives as well.

Darryl,
I meant to say two piece. I have a drop point like yours, but only in fair condition. I'd love to find a nice mint drop point in the maroon two piece handle.

so is there 6 different 426's available ?
a clip point and a drop point of each of the black maroon and green handles ?

...sounds like it to me Trax...I'd also bet that there are probably variations with those 6 as well...( if Buck did them like all the others they've done )...glad I'm not a collector)..

Here's my entire 426 collection...

Both two-piece handles w/steel spacers...
That top one is the one that I'd like to have as a companion to my clip point with the maroon two piece handle.
