Looks great, thanks for sharing. I keep checking my email in hopes that my pre order is ready.

How would you say this stacks up to the #56 two bladed jack?

The #56 carries smaller, but just as nice.

This #44 is very sturdy and leans toward a handful even at 3 1/2 inches.

The pen blade is great (like the #78 in shape & length).

A big plus for me is the nail nicks are on the same side.

Fit & finish is just spot on -- Very nice knife!

Saw a post on instagram showing that the blades on the #44 are the same length as those on the #78 with the same configuration. Man, they really packed the blade length into this handle. Looks great!

I'd imagine they're the same blade for both patterns. Easier for GEC & less new tooling. I also figure the rear bolster on this 44 is the same as the rear bolster of the 99 pattern.

Congrats! She's a beauty. Looks like some nice character in the wood.

Very much looking forward to my Northfield tatanka.

Thank You.

Suddenly the Northfield's became 100 times more exciting after getting this one. :D

The 44 main blade seems as long as the main on my 77s and single spear 78s. The secondary blade is longer than the secondary on my two 77s (pen or coping). Big pen blade!

[Not sure where to put this question on BF, so plopped it here in hopes for a response.]

Is there an appropriate place within BF to show/discuss/offer opinions on traditional stag knife scales?

Just received this GEC #44 and wondered what folks might think of the coloration of the stag. I, for one, like it because it has no bonish white coloration. Anxious to see what others might think.

I look for stag that is darker and evenly matched on both sides. Also I like the thinner cut, so it rides in the pocket easier. here's the one I just got.

You got an exceptional one . That is some Great Stag . Congrats on a fine choice .
