#44 Buffalo Jack (the Mighty Bison)

[Not sure where to put this question on BF, so plopped it here in hopes for a response.]

Is there an appropriate place within BF to show/discuss/offer opinions on traditional stag knife scales?

Just received this GEC #44 and wondered what folks might think of the coloration of the stag. I, for one, like it because it has no bonish white coloration. Anxious to see what others might think.

There are people who will like that color and there are people who do not like it . When I am looking at Stag to choose one of many , the color is an easy way to start paring down the choices . I like the way Stag ages and I think the darker colors get to that Aged Look much quicker and at my age , I can't wait for the Stag to age to that darker color . Then I start looking at the Texture , Deep Valleys , Popcorn , Transitions down to the bolsters , slab thickness , matching from side to side , and etc . There is Good Stag and then there is Better Stag . There is No Bad Stag . I think you have some Good Stag but it would be Better Stag if it was mine . :):p Be proud of it my friend !!!!

Hey Harry that's my line. There's no bad stag. It's just that some is better than others. I adapted that from my opinion on pizza. Have a good weekend.
