this one's for the light hikers/trail runners/affiliated scum. I know you're out there. I have a brand new gregory stimulus pack that I'm going to give to whichever one of you lucky humps can answer a wee bit of trivia for me. the darn thing doesn't hold quite enough stuff for me, so I might as well give it to someone who can use it. if you're not familiar with this pack, it holds 300ci and has room for a 70oz bladder, too.
the caveats are as follows:
you must be a paying member of BF.
you have to be someone who will actually use it. this is on the honor code; please don't play if it's just going to sit in your closet gathering dust. pictures of it being used would be welcome.
only one guess per swinging dick/uterus. if you have two then I'm sorry, and you still only get one guess.

okay, it's this easy: just tell me the name of the ship that my father served on during his haul in the navy. I'll even make it a little easier for you, it was a cruiser. first person who hits it on the head, wins. ready, steady, go!

I just won a contest on here, so I don't want to be considered for the prize. I think it'd be fun to guess though. If was going to guess, I'd go with the Albany. If someone else was going to guess that, go ahead, as I'm not really guessing.
 
My father was a Navy man as well. Did you know there were about 500 cruisers active in world war 2? So what part of this give-away is supposed to be "easy".

Only 79 USA cruisers in that conflict so I will say USS Denver.
