44OT Workmate on ebay.......

According to Robert's guide, they were made '90-'93, with a remake in 2001 of 4,000 pcs etched "Special Edition". One of the few OT/UH in a four blade pattern.

PS - I agree that Ebay is a good research tool, as long as you don't dwell on the verbage, but study the picture details. No way you could afford to have all those knives pass thru your hands for an upclose and personal study, and I am not aware of a comprehensive photo album of even the OT/UH patterns, much less the SFO's and variants, limited editions, and oddities.

Here is a pict of the 44OT remake.
If you or anyone else needs a picture of a specific Schrade ask... Someone in here is sure to have an example they would be willing to post.

I bought one of those within the last two months. The bidding must not have gone too high, or else I wouldn't have bought it. Keep an eye on it and you might be able to pick it up for less than you think.

AFAIK, the 44OT is the only OldTimer with four blades. Just an FYI on the claw-shaped blade if you get a chance to fondle one some day, the tip is VERY sharp and pointy, and it hurts.

Just checked my records. I paid ~$45 for the 44OT, but it was a store display and didn't come with the original box or paperwork. Based soley on that, I'd expect one with the box to sell for $60-$70.

Best Wishes,

$45 is less then I thought. I'm not big into box and papers and would never pay extra if I had a choice.
