45-50rc for o1?

I am making some shuriken style throwers for the upcoming 2001 World Knife Throwing Championships and need to know how to get a rc of 45-50 for O1 steel. I will be making them out of 1/2" X 12" round bar stock. I plan to only harden the front half.

temper it at a higher temp, not sure what it would be...
 
assuming full hardness as quenched, you should temper them at 650-700F to get the hardness range you asked about.
 
Thanks Thats what I needed. Any idea how long i should temper for 1/2" round stock?
