My 484 Nakamura finally arrived today from Blade HQ. Wow, what a nice little knife! It feels very good in the hand and I really like the satin finish on the blade. Here are some pics:

Thanks for the pics. I didn't cotton to this design at first, but your photos are like brain lubricant and now I'm thinking "maybe"...

Wasted no time taking that apart..I love it.
I got my two tonight and my fears are confirmed...it is the PERFECT edc for me. Perfect size, steel took a very, very sharp edge from WE sharpener. Love the liners and grooved scales.
As I expected, my favorite 2014 BM release. we will see if the north fork or 940-1 knocks it off. North fork shipping monday from blade hq. 940-1 hopefully later in the year, i'm broke for now for knives.

Thanks for the side-by-side, TechDoc. I thought this one was a larger OAL. Might have to think on it now...

Oh wow! I'm not sure why I was expecting it to be larger, but that's refreshing.

Any chance someone could post a pic of the 484 next to a 940/943?

How is the handle thickness compared to the Grip?

It is thicker than the Mini-Grip and thinner than my 586 Mini-Barrage. Other then being slightly longer it is very similar in dimensions and weight to the Mini-Barrage.

This knife seems to look a little similar to my HK 14210, but improved.I just don't know if the scales float my boat?It looks like a nice little blade and a great step up in blade steel.I think the knife would be blockbuster if it had carbon fiber scales especially at around a $200 price point. Thanks for sharing the very informative pictures.....

Agreed.

At the current price of $191 for the 484 there won't be too many takers. Consider that my 586 Mini-Barrage with M390 cost me $136 last year!

BM is on serious crack if they think folks will buy these up at $190. That is a $150 knife at best.

My thoughts exactly with regard to the HK 14210. Very similar but enhanced.

Yes, I have to agree with you on the price these.

Someone posted in the General forum section that they picked one up for $150 at a gun show.

I would have more of a chance of buying one if it was slightly bigger though.

This (for me) could be a nice smaller EDC. The price is a bit high. But I can deal with it. Just not sure about how I feel about the grooved G10. However , the more I look at it the more I'm becoming hooked.

The grooves do not feel as dramatic to me as they look in the photos. Also, the transition into the grooves is more smooth than I expected. The most forward grooves makes for a natural thumb and index finger rest when you are gripping the knife on the scales (i.e. not with you thumb in the jimping).

Here's a question to those complaining about the price, which M390 folder would you get for $192? That is the going rate everywhere for the 484, and I'm curious which "cheaper" but similarly equipped knife gives you the idea that this one is overpriced...

I'm not being a jerk or trying to start a debate, I'm just curious why everyone is poopoo'ing this knife
