I called Benchmade and told them that the thumb studs were catching on my pockets. They seem to be aware of the situation as they sent me a set off a different knife. No catching on pockets at all.

I called them two months ago and they told me there was no such thing! Do you remember what knife it was off? I ended up grinding mine down my self in a drill and sandpaper. Its one of my favorite knives. I plan to drill out the liners at some point.

She never mentioned what knife the studs were from. After I told her it was for a 484, she sounded like she was going down some sort of list. Maybe try again?

They're not hourglass shaped like the originals. I don't have them anymore to compare :/

Those are studs from a 531 aren't they

I just called Benchmade and they said no other thumb studs would fit, that the Nakamura thumb studs were different. I asked them to send me another set of thumb studs which I will grind, sand and install. Also got a deep carry clip.

What a genius fix, why I never thought of this I have no clue. Have had my 484 for a few years and rarely carry it bc I have also had the blade flip open a few times pulling out of pocket. Have plenty of screws left over from scale replacements on other benchmades I own and the mod worked perfectly
