This is my 4th knife,i finished it about 3 weeks ago,but due to my surgery,i just got some pic. I made it for a hog hunting friend of mine,he has not seen it yet,but i think he will like it.He said he wanted a blade that would stick a hog in the heart,i think it will work.I know the pic is not the best, but with what you see, what would you do different? What would make it better. Thanks and just be honest.Keith

overall length is 14''
blade is 8 3/4''
steel is SKS5 carbon saw steel

sorry, i have the info that was given to me on BF on posting pic but dont know if i can get it right, but i am going to try

Is it the lighting or is that knife pink and purple?

Hogs have an "armor plate" around their lower shoulder area that is tough to shoot through with smaller calibers and will require a pretty stout jab to penetrate with a knife on the older hogs. I think I'd want a generous bolster if I was gonna stick a pig with it to ensure my hand didn't go sliding down the blade. The design of the blade itself looks good for it's purpose.

As i said not a very good pic.One day i'll learn that part, the blade actually has a mirror finish. As far the guard i could not agree more, but,my friend saw another knife i had with the same design (no guard) and that's what he wanted.I ask,he said no guard, and i did the best i could making the knife. Thanks for the comment,Keith

yeah those things are tough we mounted one for a guy (used to work at a taxidermy) he shot it twice with a 30-06 trailed it into a briar thicket and then it charged him and he unloaded a 40 on him some of the bullets where lodged between his shield and meat at a point blank range

Yea,i've hunted hogs for several years,we have a farm and i will kill a few while deer hunting,we also hunt them after deer season with dogs.We will catch a few and it sure does keep them on the move. But if i am going to try to kill one,if it is a large boar, neck shot is the way to go.
