4th of July coming...

We are smoking a Snake River Farm Corned Beef Round today. Costco put them on sale around St. Patrick's day and we stock up. It is American Wagyu beef and it is very special. Mr. Martin I was wondering about grilling a brisket? We always smoke for 10-15 hours a whole packer. Right now brisket prices are crazy expensive.

Those offset smokers are nice.
I'd have one in a second if my deck were bigger.... Ok huge.
I mean how many grills can you put on a deck????

'never smoked a brisket, but you got me thinking about it.
Lot's of hams and ribs. Even a pig or two........ but I don't have that much time anymore.

Oops posted this in the Blades and BBQ thread in general. Guess it could fit here as well
Starting laying in supplies for next weekends cooks.
18 lb prime packer brisket
4-9 lb butts
3-3 lb racks of baby backs
1.75 l Jim Beam
1 gal can ketchup
Quart of real maple syrup
12 pack grapefruit shandy

bourbon, ketchup and maple syrup are for the 2 gallons of sauce I’ll make between smoking the butts and brisket Thursday overnight and ribs all day Saturday

The beer is for me! It’s very refreshing and pretty low alcohol so it’s perfect for a long day / night on fire watch. View attachment 1368082View attachment 1368083

I don't know what they have planned for the 4th. I am quite sure they won't let any residents use the BB-Q grill they have to do their own cooking.
(Truth to tell, for a couple of the residents, I don't blame them any single little bit. Those dud's have lost/misplaced so many of their marbles/gotten so stupid (Alzheimer's) they might (probably would) forget the coals and food are hot ... until they grabbed hold of one or the other ... two of them might (probably would) forget to leggo, too ...)

That picture makes me very happy, in a previous life I humped a pig!

Not many people would think that statement could be something to congratulate...

But I do, thanks boss.

That one runs like a watch and its rails are welded so it will never stretch.
We had it out in October last year with the MG81s. It's a crowd pleaser for sure, easy to recognize. Movie star, war vet, book covers, the whole celebrity hat trick for guns.

Hawk, I have looked at those wood pellet smokers at Tractor. I heard they hold the temperature consistent. The same technology as
a pellet stove. Worm feed on the pellets. All electric, no propane bottle. You going to use your 120 during cooking? DM
