5,000 Posts! Whew!

Mike & Spark,

Bladeforums has made a significant contribution to the quality of my life. I think it's time I gave back. I've had a couple custom avatar contests in the past, but that doesn't pay the "electricity bill". :D You have an invaluable resource here at bladeforums.

So, I decided to sign up for a premium membership. I can't believe it's only $20/year! (I think I'll being going for the gold next... ) I had avoided the issue before because other forum's premium memberships have cost me at least $60+/year. As an architect, I shell out well over $1000 each year for registrations, memberships, clubs, etc. to keep my licenses (and keep up appearances ;) ) And, as any architect would probably agree, I don't get anywhere near as much satisfaction from them as I get here at bladeforums. Especially the AIA... :( (you architects know what I'm talking about here..)

I have been with many different forums for up to 6 years. I have seen them come and go. From ProPhotography to FlashPro to FujiTalk to VBScriptBS to many more. Yours, though, is different. Besides being well-organized and easy-to-follow, bladeforums is overflowing with content. Recently, the ford-trucks.com mailing-list that I belonged to died. (True, in message board form they live on - but it's awful to try to navigate). Anyway, they died because the old timers stopped posting - the real gurus got bored and left.

I would hope that you (spark) will do whatever it takes to ensure that the old timers on this forum don't drop off or drift away. They're the life blood of the forum. Their advise, tips, and yes, even their garbage :D is fascinating to all of us.

Thank you for everything.

Daniel Koster

p.s. how long does it take until it changes me from basic to premium?

I have a lot of fun here in Bladeforums. The laughter is always ringing in my ears.

Made some great friends here. A lot of smart people who are generous enough to share their knowledge with the inquisitive ones.

Bladeforums is a good idea. The fact that its membership is growing is testimony to its popularity.

The founders deserve a big round of applause.

:) :) :)

This place is my favorite site on the "WEB". It provides fun, entertainment and a vast amount of knife-knowledge. I also have spent more $$ on knives than I thought possible before becoming active here.  It's been great and I hope it continues forever.

Thanks Mark and Spark.:)

I love BFC!!!

You guys are like a second family to me. You've defended me, helped mem pick out knives, and been cool since the day I joined. Not to mention, this place is responcible for me spending all I have on knives:p

edit: had a little too much wine this morning after Spark told me myt Cuda Maxx is on it's way:D

I blame this place for putting me in the financial position that I am today. Broke... I've made new friends, found old ones, and bought quite a few, too. Thanks for keeping this place going.

DD

Indeed! This place has been one which keeps drawing me back. I still remember the "race" to get here to make the first post after Spark announced BFC was online.... I won by the way <big grin>!

But more than anything else, including my experiences with Talonite, have been the friends made here. Far too many to list, so just mentioning two that have unfortunately left us should serve to illustrate my meaning: James Mattis and Walt "Doc" Welch.

Carry on!!!
