Mike & Spark,
Bladeforums has made a significant contribution to the quality of my life. I think it's time I gave back. I've had a couple custom avatar contests in the past, but that doesn't pay the "electricity bill".
You have an invaluable resource here at bladeforums.
So, I decided to sign up for a premium membership. I can't believe it's only $20/year! (I think I'll being going for the gold next...
) I had avoided the issue before because other forum's premium memberships have cost me at least $60+/year. As an architect, I shell out well over $1000 each year for registrations, memberships, clubs, etc. to keep my licenses (and keep up appearances
) And, as any architect would probably agree, I don't get anywhere near as much satisfaction from them as I get here at bladeforums. Especially the AIA...
(you architects know what I'm talking about here..)
I have been with many different forums for up to 6 years. I have seen them come and go. From ProPhotography to FlashPro to FujiTalk to VBScriptBS to many more. Yours, though, is different. Besides being well-organized and easy-to-follow, bladeforums is overflowing with content. Recently, the ford-trucks.com mailing-list that I belonged to died. (True, in message board form they live on - but it's awful to try to navigate). Anyway, they died because the old timers stopped posting - the real gurus got bored and left.
I would hope that you (spark) will do whatever it takes to ensure that the old timers on this forum don't drop off or drift away. They're the life blood of the forum. Their advise, tips, and yes, even their garbage
is fascinating to all of us.
Thank you for everything.
Daniel Koster
p.s. how long does it take until it changes me from basic to premium?
