Ok, I've had a chance to ask Guy about this. The peening step functions the same way as the tumbling. It smooths out the highs and lows created by the blasting. So the finish is more like rolling hills, rather than jagged mountains.

Ok so its like a special blast media that gives the benefits of both tumbling and blasting. Must be unicorns afterall!!

I'm sure the man himself will holler back, but I'm guessing natural canvas and coyote brown/tan. My next GSO will have this combination! Looks so good :thumbup:

Could be flat dark earth as well. I can't tell since I have not seen them side by side. All mine are black.

If the tint is correct, I'm guessing SN is right and it's coyote tan. It looks brighter than the FDE on my 3.5. Congrats BTW, cmznj2.

the green micarta is very tricky to get a good picture of... everytime I post one of mine it doesn't look right

I think I would like to see more Green linen.

I really think this canvas micarta is a good one when you don't want it to stand out. It seems to take on background colours well.

Good news - my new knife is waiting for me at home!!!
Bad news - I have to work late, and we have family at the house, and I am expected to hang out with them this evening, tomorrow and the weekend. I won't be able to check out the new knife until Sunday.
