Sup been searching forever closest i could find was tops bob and saz bushcrafter but the bushcrafter isnt always on sale so need another option. The knife is going to be used to do the harder tasks like batoning and making a fire or any survival and camp tasks. I have a mora too.
Specs:3/16 thick, at least 5 inch blade, scandi or scandivex grind, steel that depends ill make the decision on that.
If i cant find anything ill probably pick the bob but id like options till then

Can't think of any 3/16" scandi grinds other than the tops bob. Most prefer their scandis thinner.

The Tops BOB is a great hard use and abuse knife thou..love mine so much I picked up another.

Either the Roselli or the YP-Taonta small leukus. The Roselli has a low flat ground with small microbevel, the YP-Taonta has a high flat grind with a convex edge.

I thought a review on this forum, as it turned out by you, would add information.
I just meant it wasn't really a review, except the final post after I worked out the issue I had with the original with defective heat treat . The majority of the thread is negative bc it was defective...However once that was sorted out it became one of my favourite knives...just didn't want the knife negatively reflected to a prospective buyer due to a chance defect. I just bought another one I like it so much.

On a side note the new one actually came with a good acute edge.

Although I don't own one, I've always felt the B.O.B. was one of the best of its kind. I don't buy fixed blades anymore because I have too many but if I did a B.O.B. would probably be one I'd buy. I thought Bobby's posts in his thread were interesting.

My favorite true Scandis, though, are leukus. I've prefered them since I was a pup. I still feel that design is best for outdoors and wilderness. especially in winter. The Samis knew what they were doing in knife design.

I'd recommend a good leuku in the size of your choice....preferably matched with a puukko. The perfect outdoor combination.
