Awww, I messed up on todays email and missed the Hanshee. I swear it was mine to lose, Even after I sent the (to wrong address) email, I was the only one listed as viewing the thread.

I have posted a few pictures of some of the knives here and there. I have 32 HI knives now. A mere drop in the bucket compared to some. And if my wife ever finds out, I'll be single again.

the really entertaining part was seeing yangdu logged in around 3 pm my time, and then vanished. a bunch of people apparently left. then she came back :)

I figured that out a long time ago. Bill used to do it too. They log on, see what's going on, then log off to take picts and come back with the new sale thread.

It's good to see fever. People going whacko for a good cause. Hey, you get a good deal, get a handmade blade for far less than it's worth, and benefit all those involved with health and economic support. It's like buying for charity.

It is hard enough hitting the refresh button ever 30 seconds from 2:00 - 4:00 (central). I can't imagine what would happen if they happened at any old hour of the day.
 
I've taken the easier route--just given up on the idea of ever getting one of the specials.

These shark feedings are influenced by the tide. You have a batch of relatively new people trying to stock up on their HI home wares. Certain models will predictably be scarce for a time, but when interest wanes after they've filled the slots, the DOD will linger longer.

Also, conditions in Nepal right now are bad. The uncertainty and instability affects how much and when HI products can arrive here in the US for distribution. When the politics smooth out a little, look to increased production and even more DOD's.

No solution yet, though I'm sure it'll involve placing an order directly. Unfortunately, since the nature of my work doesn't allow me to check out a web page every few minutes, I even miss out on much of the entertainment value--kind of like missing a movie, and having to do with just reading the reviews. ;)

Leatherface, it sounds like you don't have an antler handled sarge knife. EYE have two. (Sorry Astro! ;) I'm watching your progress too.) Your collection is totaly incomplete without it. Plus its one of THEE most useful HI designs. (Thanks Kis) Especially for leatherwork!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And they're cheap as snot too. You'd better e-mail Yangdu too.:thumbup: ;) :D

Way ahead of ya bro, I am on the list for 2 Sarge knives...One Antler and one Buffalo or wood...Gotta get me a Wood or Buff handled JKM and Buff handled Karda as well..

Maybe Kismet would post some pics of the original. I saw pics of it today at HD's, and it is a thing of beauty. Pretty please post us a pic Kismet!!!!:)

On the handle thing, horn is really just singing to me lately. I like working it too. Its hard as hell though. I think it was that Reflections of Asia bolo I got that set it off. Pretty horn. Horn pretty. Horn.;)
