L to r

21.5 inch 29 ounce dui chirra by Bura. Fine work by Bura. Only thing wrong is 20 minutes worth of rust removal. $135 YBB+

18 inch 21 ounce Sirupati by Bura. Nice chandan wood handle. Superglue fix crack in wood handle. $70 YBB

16.5 inch 20 ounce WWII by Bura. Hairline crack in horn handle and a couple of minutes worth of rust on blade keep it out of perfect category. Another YBB $65

15 inch 17 ounce Sirupati by Kumar. Epoxy fix crack in horn handle. $50 delivered.

26.5 inch 18 ounce Dukti Sword by Bura. Great work by bread kami. Epoxy fix crack in chandan wood handle. Worth more than asking price of $135 YBB++

Email to get any or all of the 98% perfect rigs at near cost.

All great buys.

That 18" Chandan Sirupati looks very appealing, but I bought a horn handled Katunje the other day, and a UB Salyan last week . . .

Damn, I'm tempted to grab one of the Sirupatis!
Wish there was a Pen knife or a Sarge, though.

My wishlist: Pen knife, Sarge, Seax!

Antler handle tools, looks like, on a nice Dui Chiurra... not seeing those all that much anymore. Very pretty rig.

I'm looking at 15,000 dollars of house repairs, and a loan. I'm going to go through a long period of watching wonderful blades dance in front of my eyes before going off to happy homes elsewhere.

This will be my first HI!

Is it a good choice???

I cannot find any info on the dui chirra on their website...

Woops... This is the one I have been planning on getting anyway! Just forgot the name... Keep forgetting to check the 'New Products' page...

Excellent first choice; you're off to a great start! :) Here's the H.I. Dui Chirra link: http://www.himalayan-imports.com/new.html

I always wanted one with the extended tool kit...
The regular one without the extended tool kit and with plain handles is $350.00!!!
Does any one know what this one without the rust goes for???
If the rust is not TOO bad, this could be the deal of the year!!!
Only problem is, that it seems a BIT too big for every day carry...:D

That's a collector's prize, and will teach you a lot about khuks immediately.

Congrats.

My first one was a 20" Ang Khola, the "WOW" factor left quite an impression... in fact I'm still marked from it. :foot:

no, not THAT scar- that's from the bowie...

Dui chirra, horn handle Sirupati gone.

The 15" Sirupati is a gift for a new student ...his first khuk should be a good starter blade.

The 15" Siru is one heck of a knife. Our old friend Sarge carried one in Afganistan. (maybe Iraq too) It's big enough to do most anything other than chopping, but short enough to "fly under the radar".

Agreed I have several in my collection and it is the one I tell my students to buy. I also like the 15" AK and the 18" kobra for martial arts

Good to see you over here visiting from Mike's place...

Mike's place??? You mean the two BRKT forums?

I am a regular on over 10 forums() WOW, but it is hard to keep up!!!

Chandan wood Sirupati gone.

Email sent on the 18" chandan sirupati. An under-appreciated model, IMHO. Long handle, big tools, a sweet setup.

I have an 18" horn Siru and it's one of my faves for all of the reasons that you state, Bri. Nice snag.

I was quite tempted, but . . . .

I was also tempted a little. It looks like that Siru has been available since the June 28 DOTD. (Thread called 6/27 DOTD by mistake)
