but I picked this up for $5... possible 112 blade replacement
definitely a possibility, but I'm still working on fine tuning my regular sharpening skills...

Here's what I suggest...use this to practice your sharpening skills.
After you achieve the level of proficiency you're comfortable with. Send it to Buck, with $10.00 for a blade replacement and they will spiff it up for you.

yeah I think bucksway is right on this one. they'll just send a back a different current product...which is okay if one doesn't care with that. I doubt they'll do a blade replacement on this one...

unless ya know they got a box of old blades from discontinued models sitting around?

If it's a discontinued product Buck might replace it with a similar knife but they cannot replace the blade. Reprofile the blade is your best bet.

Late last year or early this year I sent in a 426 Bucklite and Buck put in a 2021 110 blade. I'm thinking they would put in a 112 blade for a 422.

Pretty sure Buck does not consider a broken blade tip a warranty issue. At most they would probably offer a new equivalent at 50% off list for a new knife. About the $10 blade replacement, fine if they have it but consider this, you also have to ship it to Buck, what is that these days. $8 maybe. You then have $23 into a used cheap knife. Personally I would just throw it into the tool box and give it a second life as a gasket scraper and pry tool. $5 is a deal, spending money on it makes it less of a deal. If you are really that bored or adventurous, you could reshape it for the fun of it. It seems to be a recurring theme on this forum, someone comes up with a knife in need and want to make a silk purse out of a sows ear, I should really just be silent and let people enjoy their find whatever way pleases them but I guess that is my flaw.

but many just love sows ear purses, Roger....😁

That sounds very much like a possible character in the Monty Python and the Holy Grail movie. A large knight known for his ape-like strength, his penchant for smoking cigars the size of firewood and his unnatural ability to crush walnuts with his super-sized monkey-mitts the rest of us call hands.
lol, trust me these little gal sized hands ain't crushing no walnuts....now Roger on the other hand has those size 2xl plus sized mitts.....sure he could do that easily......

J J Hubbard Perhaps you could provide clarification on the subject of blade replacement for this particular model. Once Benny knows if the blade is replaceable he should do whatever he desires.

pjsjr pjsjr I am surprised by your Bucklite 110 blade. I thought I had read that blade replacement on those models was a difficult endeavor and not offered. I am glad Buck did yourn.
