I picked up a broken 110 to day for $10. I think I will take the above advice and try to practice my freehand sharpening skills... I am moving at the beginning of June, so I will send them to buck once I'm settled.Uhh... back to the subject at hand.... what should Benny should do with his $5 knife?
Due to removing the rivet from the plastic handle?I've heard that half of the Bucklites are damaged by a blade replacement attempt. Getting back to the point (lolol!) just reprofile the blade and use it. A toolbox Buck is still a Buck.
Yes.. completely understandable... the blade (what remains of it) looks identical to those on a new 112.... didn't know I'd that was a possibility....yeah I think bucksway is right on this one. they'll just send a back a different current product...which is okay if one doesn't care with that. I doubt they'll do a blade replacement on this one...
unless ya know they got a box of old blades from discontinued models sitting around?
well Preston did get a 110 blade replaced in his bucklite....so he has experience on it....I was going by typical company logic of labor costs vs. new product cost. appears I was wrong.......guess if ya get the right person and get to chat with them maybe, anything is possible.Yes.. completely understandable... the blade (what remains of it) looks identical to those on a new 112.... didn't know I'd that was a possibility....
I removed the rivet and the factory installed the new blade.B BennyBlade . Did you send this to Buck for the blade swap or is it a homemade Frankenbuck?
You have a truly unique knife now! That was nice of Buck to do that for you considering the 442 was never produced with a clip point blade. Seems like a departure from the norm for Buck. Glad to see it.I removed the rivet and the factory installed the new blade.
Looks like a mini-Goliath. Really cool. This will be the first knife in my sows ear purse collection... I love everything about it. Even the ridiculous pocket clip.
