OK the first one went to the general section and is now for all knives, so let's keep this one here and only for traditionals.
So what are your top 5 favorite traditionals to carry ? One honorable mention allowed.
Here's mine.

#5 - buck 283
#4 - case sodbuster Jr
#3 - buck 110
#2 - bpm2.5" neck knife ( by me for me )
#1 - impede jackmaster barlow
HM - vic Gardner
This my current 5 favorites in order, but my favorite may change

It's easy for me to pick my top 5 favorites because I don't have to many users ( most are tac-force type novelty knives )

So I'm pretty excited to go home and find a Queen Doctors Knife in my mailbox. I've been hunting one for a while now. Excited to get it. I fully expect it to become a favorite. But until then:

#5: GEC #15 Boys Knife (can't go wrong having this in your pocket)

#4: GEC #47 Viper (the new 2015 run is photo'd, but I prefer to beat up on my 2013 OD Micarta)

#3: GEC #9 Esquire (this one is almost always with me accompanying another knife)

#2: GEC #77 Barlow (heirloom quality and rustic at the same time. And it just screams "USE ME!")

#1: CSC 2015 BF knife (This pattern is so unique and useful. high quality materials with rock solid hand-finished construction. A great pocketable size. It all adds up to being my favorite knife in every way)

This is going to take some thought because I like so many of the ones that I have and have owned. I'll update this post with photos when I finalize my answer and take some pictures. Most of you that have followed me on this forum probably have a good guess or two, so check back in tomorrow. I've got an employment interview coming up shortly and won't be able to get it done until tomorrow.

I like this thread!

Starting with No. 5; when I feel the need for a larger than normal knife for a bit of heavier work, I look for this S&M Heritage single blade spear with rosewood covers. Not the best ever workmanship, but it is a fine working knife.

At no. 4, this Gerber Silver Knight in a 3-blade stockman like configuration is quite handy. One thing I really like about it is the sheepsfoot lays pretty flat in the handle and is very comfortable for a stockman pattern.

No. 3 spot goes to the Case Swayback jack. I think this particular version is my favorite (of the ones I own); it gets used fairly often.

No. 2 spot goes to this feral GEC 66 jack in rotten banana bone. This one's been around these parts..

And the No. 1 spot goes to my favorite small carry knife - the Case mini copperhead with whancliffe main blade. This one is not my usual carry, because that one is hiding somewhere right now... I get antsy when it does that...

There you go......

Would ask that you didn't Frank as I was in the process of compiling my post whilst that was going on and I don't think it was Hickory 'n' Steel's intention to go in that direction. Will add text when status of thread is confirmed.

Anyway, as I was going to say. A big factor behind my choice of EDC knives are the U.K. knife laws (no more than a 3 inch non-locking blade), so I've found these three Rough Riders fit the bill. The small work knife is a great all purpose, single blade tool. The small stockman also a great little knife with a better choice of blades, if slightly small for bigger jobs at work. The whittler gives me the best of both worlds, with a strong main blade and a nice arrangement of small ones, and has been getting a lot of pocket time recently for these reasons. Previous to these I used my Vic Farmer or my Gak, both great knives for everyday use. The Farmer has found a permanent home in my fishing tackle box and the Gak I must start using again, great knife. Weekends it's my small Case Peanut or my little Turner two blade equal end pen... smart, discreet and useful.

...oops that's seven isn't it. Well the Gak can be my honorable mention and the little Turner....well it's on there now. :p

1) GEC 92 Talon
2) GEC 15 (single blade)
3) GEC 47 Viper
4) GEC 55 Houndstooth
5) GEC 77 (single blade) Probably should be higher, but I didn't carry it for a long time because the blade was so stiff)

Those are the ones I carry. For my honorable mention, I'm torn...
There's the 2015 forum knife; but I haven't carried that since probably a month after I got it. To be honest, I'm not even sure, offhand, where it is. I mean, I could find it if I wanted it, and it probably wouldn't take me more than 15 minutes (a good part of which would be thinking time); but I wouldn't count on just walking over to where I think it is & being able to lay my hand on it.
There's also my GEC 62 Half Congress in birdseye maple. I'm quite fond of that one; but the two blade thing keeps it out of my pocket, as well. It's pretty much my dress up knife.
There are also 2 that I don't have in hand, but I'm sure will be carried. A GEC 73 (when I finally manage to find one I want), and an old Queen that is coming my way.
Guess I'll have to pass on the honorable mention category, for now.

Case Barlow
SCHRADE Walden 8OT
IMPERIAL Jack Knife
Case Sod Buster Jr
Old timer 340

I would carry my 34OT , but it had horrible blade play when my dad got it and never used it. and I'd also carry my 33OT, but the sheepsfoot has no snap to it.

Heya Gard! The white throated sparrows are singing in Boston, stopping by on their way north and reminding me it's time to follow them up to the Whites. Following your posts on one of the other forums about pocket knives. Hope life is good.

I had to break it down into categories, because I carry most of my knives, and own more than a couple. Plus my kids pick my daily carry when they are home with me, this is just my pick today, may change tomorrow, but looking at what was out on my display stand and not in the storage drawer, here are the winners!!

OVERALL FAVOURITE!! GEC Executive whittler (Stag)

Favourite Woods Carry: GEC Cattle Baron (looking glass Black Lip MOP)
Favourite Looker: Case Damascus Stockman (Jigged Bone)
Favourite Single Blade: Lloyd Swayback Wharncliffe (Mammoth)
Favourite Small Folder: Queen Humpback Whittler (Stag)

Honourable mention: Kissing Crane Punch Stockman (Wood- bought it this weekend, romance stage honourable mention)
