Care to share some details Max? I'm always interested how the low carb options works practically for different people. What is a typical breakfast/lunch/dinner/snack for you?
It couldn't be simpler, mate. The only weighing/counting I do is at breakfast. I always have muesli, and for some reason 42 grams is the magic number. I pop a bowl on the electronic balance, zero it & add 42 grams of my favourite rabbit fuel. I then top it with a banana, add milk, grab any other fruit I fancy and that's breakfast.
The regime is based on "Red days" or "Green days." Both are effective, but weight loss is faster on Reds, when meat is the main constituent of your diet.
The only things to avoid are high glycaemic index carbs: essentially bread, rice, pasta & the like. Alcohol is to be throttled right back.
The system is called "Slimming World" or "Slimmer's World." (Spiglet goes to the weigh-ins, gets the books, plans the menus etc. I just follow orders).
The up side is that you can eat as much lean meat, salads, fruit and veggies as you like. Read that again:
As much as you like. If you want to lunch on six roast chickens with 5 lbs of broccoli, carrots, beans and spinach, go ahead!
I love it because it's simple & it works. Like I say, I've not felt hungry, nor had to weigh or calorie-count anything, yet I've lost about 25 lbs/ 11 kg in a few months.
My blood sugar is great, my resting pulse is 62, my blood pressure is textbook for my age and my cholesterol is 4.19!
