Hello everyone! It is a bit exciting here in San Antonio this weekend. It has been mega hot and dry but we have an incoming hurricane that should spread a little moisture around our area. We need it, BAD! Also I have 5 knives to offer for sale, so let's get crackin'...

Knife # 1

This is like a mini nakiri or a small santoku. I love the blade shape, the way it tapers in width and the tanto point. The blade is made from Crucible's Cru Forge V high carbon chrome/vanadium steel. The heat treatment is among the finest available from anyone. It included normalizing for carbide refinement, thermal cycling for grain refinement, a DET anneal to respheroidize the carbides, a timed soak at a precisely held temperature prior to a fast oil quench, then given a "cryo" bath to ensure a solid martensite conversion, and finally triple tempered to a hardness of 62-63HRC. The blade has a full flat grind that terminates into a thin edge which makes slicing and dicing very easy. The handle is a nicely figured piece of walnut which was hand rubbed to 1200 grit and then given multiple coats of TruOil for a classy gloss finish. I recently made myself one of these knives to use in the kitchen and it really cuts above it's weight class. A lot of fun to use.

OAL: 9 7/8"
Blade: 5 3/8"
Handle: 4 1/2"
Thickness: 0.110"
Steel: Cru Forge V ~63HRC
Handle: Claro Walnut
Edge: 10° per side, 6 micron

Knife # 2

I made this one for myself to use this coming deer season, but I decided to let it go. I don't like a lot of blade when I am field dressing a deer. For me, a 3" blade is all that I need and that is why I went with this design. It has a cool look, IMHO. The blade is made from D2 tool steel, which is a very wear resistant steel that seems to excel at cutting meat. I think it's the high carbide % which contributes to that characteristic. As the blade dulls, the carbides start to protrude from the edge apex and act as micro serrations that just blaze through meat protein. The heat treatment I used on this is sort of unique in that I employed a "prequench" to refine the grain structure. I came across a tool steel book that showed a chart of the fracture grain size of D2 that was just hardened vs D2 that used the prequench, and the grain refinement was very very much improved. The blade was also given a "cryo" bath and triple tempers for a hardness of ~63HRC. This knife is going to cut and cut and cut some more! The handle is black G10 with red liners and spacers and also has an aluminum lanyard tube. If you're looking for a really "high performance" field dressing machine that comes in a slightly smaller package, this is it, baby!

OAL: 7"
Blade: 3"
Handle: 4"
Thickness: 0.085"
Steel: D2 tool steel 63HRC
Handle: Black g10 with red liners/spacers
Edge: 15° per side, 6 micron

Knife # 3 (repost and price drop)

K tip hidden tang hunting knife in thin stock A2 tool steel. I really like A2 for it's balance of toughness and wear resistance which gives excellent edge retention. After "cryo" and triple tempers, the hardness on this blade is 63HRC. The blade has a full flat grind terminating in a thin edge profile and a hand rubbed satin finish. The guard is made of brass stock and the handle is a nicely figured piece of Claro Walnut that has been sculpted to fit the hand very comfortably and oiled and waxed for protection. This little guy is very light and fast, very well suited for game processing and even kitchen duty.

OAL: 8 1/2"
Blade: 4"
Handle: 4 1/2"
Thickness: 0.090" taper to tip
Steel: Bohler A2 tool steel, 63HRC with "cryo"
Handle: Claro Walnut
Edge: 13° per side, 6 micron

Knife # 4 (repost and price drop)

This is a Japanese inspired hidden tang paring/utility knife made from Hitachi ATS-34 steel. It is identical to 154CM in composition. It is a stainless steel with hard chromium carbides that add wear resistance. What I like about these types of stainless steels is that they are plenty stainless, they have decent wear resistance (more than AEBL), but they can be sharpened easily with waterstones. This knife was given a custom in house heat treatment and is 64HRC!! That's definitely up there! The grind is full flat, but has a slight convexity to it like an apple seed/teardrop. I used my older "tribal S" logo for this knife. The handle is "D" shaped, made from Purple Heart wood with a white G10 spacer. The wood was sanded to 800 grit and oil rubbed with several coats of TruOil and a final wax coat for protection. It is extremely light and comfortable in the hand. Makes for a sweet little slice/dice knife, and you hardly have to worry about any corrosion.

OAL: 9"
Blade: 4 5/8"
Handle: 4 3/8"
Thickness: 1/16", taper to tip
Steel: Hitachi ATS-34, ~64HRC with sub zero (-100°F) treatment
Handle: Purple Heart and white G10 spacer
Edge: 13° per side, 6 micron

Knife # 5

Trailing point hunter or EDC. Steel is AEB-L stainless steel, heat treated by Peter's to 62HRC with cryo. Half of the spine is crowned. Handle is made from purple heart and cocobolo. Very light weight and comfortable in the hand, even with various grip styles. I really like trailing point knives. They look cool and are very versatile.

OAL: 8"
Blade: 3.5"
Handle: 4.5"
Thickness: 0.062"
Steel: AEB-L 62HRC with cryo
Handle: Cocobolo and purple heart
Edge: 13° per side, 6 micron

I'll take #4 please.

Paypal sent.

Shipping address is still the same if you have it from the last one I bought from you, but I'll send you a PM with it as well.

Thanks!

That's the best nakiri on the web within $100 of that price. Seconds.

I've been watching videos on using a Nakiri for a couple days now as it'll be my first. I just need to get my family to realize with these steels you must cut and clean/dry the knife. No leaving in the sink or on the cutting board wet with scraps.
